Jackalope Editions

a collaborative printshop specializing in hand pulled, fine art prints

  • About Jackalope Editions

Established in 2020, Jackalope Editions is a collaborative printshop and publisher located in Mighty Mud, a ceramics studio, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our mission is to introduce fine art printmaking to local and regional artists, encouraging them to develop their imagery through experimentation under the guidance of a collaborative printer. We also invite artists from outside the region to our studio where they get to experience the culture and landscape of Southern Appalachia while they work on their prints. In addition to honoring traditional techniques of printmaking, we enjoy pushing the limits of what printmaking can do. Some of our unique collaborations include using lithography to print on ceramics, fabric for quilting, and even its application in banjo lutherie. We strive to engage with our community and to provide a deeper appreciation for fine art printmaking.

  • Services

Our specialty in collaborative printing allows artists to come and make lithographs without the worry of the technical process. Artists get to enjoy the experience of making a print guided by our printer.

Jackalope Editions invites artists to come work in the studio for one to two weeks. The prints that are made are published through the studio and are available for purchase.

Contract Printing is available for artists who wish to have an edition for themselves or by request of a gallery that represents the artist.

Monotyping sessions for individual artists are offered in the studio for artists who wish to work in a more painterly and spontaneous way.

Intaglio and relief printing are available upon request.

  • Facilities

Our studio is outfitted with a Charles Brand lithography press. We are capable of printing stones, ball grained aluminum plates and photolithography.

Located inside of Relay Ridge, a collaborative artists space, we are minutes away from downtown Knoxville.
